Thane, Sep 25: Korum Mall, in association with the Thane District Chess Association, is all set to host the 5th Pinnacle FIDE-rated Rapid Chess Tournament on 27th September 2026, organised by Pinnacle Chess Events. Following four successful editions, the much-anticipated tournament returns to Thane, bringing together chess enthusiasts and players for an exciting day of rapid-format matches where precision, timing, and strategy take centre stage.
Recognised by the All-India Chess Federation and FIDE, the tournament will feature rated matches under the Thane District Chess Association and Maharashtra Chess Association, further contributing to the growing competitive chess circuit in the region.
Players from across Maharashtra and other parts of the country are expected to participate, including promising young talents as well as experienced players. With every move demanding precision and quick decision-making, the tournament will showcase the intensity and skill that define rapid-format chess.
In line with its inclusive spirit, the tournament will also feature special categories and awards for physically challenged and visually impaired participants, reinforcing the idea that chess is a sport that can be enjoyed and pursued by everyone.
